Research Highlights
Research Summary
Since 2023, Dr Chien-Yu Lin has served as a research affiliate at the Centre for Urban Transitions, Swinburne University of Technology, and the Faculty of Sport Sciences at Waseda University. Dr Lin’s expertise lies in behavioural health science and social epidemiology. Her research examines the social determinants of health behaviours, including physical activity, sedentary behaviour, and suicidal behaviour, and evaluates population-level interventions, such as urban design and means restriction, aimed at reducing premature mortality from non-communicable diseases. Adopting a multilevel analytical framework, her work investigates how policy, built, and social environments shape population health behaviours. Methodologically, she employs quantitative approaches including time-series analysis, spatial modelling, risk factor assessment, and intervention effectiveness evaluation. Through close collaboration with domestic and international research teams, her research generates empirical evidence to inform public health policy and advance evidence-based practice.
