Program Milestones

Admissions
Submit Admissions Application
Check "Admissions" in the menu for application details.

Enrollment
Submit the required documents by the date specified in your acceptance notification

Registration
Pay tuition fees on time.
First-year students can apply for Credit Exemption within the first week through the system.

Advisor Selection
Submit an Advisor Confirmation Form by the end of the 1st term.
Application for Advisor Change

Finish Required Course Credits
Finish Seminar I-IV, Required Courses, and Electives.

Qualification Exam (QE)
The PhD Candidate QE consists of a Written Exam and Dissertation Proposal Oral Exam.
Please pass the examination within the specified period mentioned in the regulations.

Dissertation Progress Reports
Present your research progress to your advisor each semester.
Your Advisor must approve of your reports.

Journal Article Publication
Publish an article in a Q1/Q2 Journal.
Start early, as article acceptance can take anywhere from 6 months to 1 year.

International Conference Presentation
Present your research findings at an international conference.

English Proficiency Test (for Non-native Speakers)
Provide an English proficiency test score of at least CEFR B2.
This is not needed if your highest degree is from a country that lists English as an official language. Example English-speaking countries include Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United States of America.
English Proficiency should be CEFR B2 or above. This means at least IELTS 5.5/TOEFL iBT 72 (NCKU Code 2450)/TOEIC 785.
