- Online Application fields (via the NCKU OIA Application website)
- Signed Declaration Form
- Notarized Official Diploma and Transcript from a Master's-equivalent Degree
- If it's from a non-Taiwanese school, a copy should be translated into English or Chinese, and notarized by the Taiwan embassy/consulate/mission of that school's country.
- If you haven't graduated yet, also submit a copy of your student ID card and proof of year of study. An official notarized version will be required later, during registration.
- Notarized Official Transcript from a Master's-equivalent Degree
- If it's from a non-Taiwanese school, a copy should be translated into English or Chinese, and notarized by the Taiwan embassy/consulate/mission of that school's country.
- Notarized Financial Statement
- Provide a bank balance statement of at least NT$120,000 (approx. US$4,000) to show sufficient financial support during enrollment.
- If from a non-Taiwanese bank, the balance statement should be notarized by the Taiwan embassy/consulate/mission of that country.
- If you received a scholarship, provide proof of the award.
- If the bank account is not under the student's name (e.g. a parent's account), a signed declaration from the sponsor should be provided.
- Two Letters of Recommendation
- Copy of ID(s): Passport, Taiwan ARC card, ROC Non-Household Registration certificate
- Study Plan
- Detail your education background, research interest, motivations for further study, etc.
- Autobiography (in English)
- Copy of Master's Thesis or Relevant Academic Publications
- Certificate of English Language Proficiency (for Non-native Speakers)
- This is not needed if your highest degree is from a country that lists English as an official language. Example English-speaking countries include Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United States of America.
- English Proficiency should be CEFR B2 or above. This means at least IELTS 5.5/TOEFL iBT 72 (NCKU Code 2450)/TOEIC 785 (see test score comparison).
