International Conference for Health Equity
GMT+8 (Asia/Taipei)
Sign-up before 2024 June 10.
Purpose of the Conference:
To align Taiwan with international knowledge and skills, improve social determinants affecting health, and enhance health equity, this seminar invites four internationally renowned scholars from France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Taiwan. Using healthy eating and physical activity as case studies, they will share experiences related to promoting health equity. The aim is for participants to understand through keynote speeches, community visits, and practical guidance: (1) how to apply citizen science methods and systematic thinking to examine related issues; (2) how to discuss subsequent improvements and interventions with stakeholders and policymakers; (3) how to integrate health into all policies to enhance overall health and health equity by improving social determinants.
Agenda Planning:
The seminar agenda includes four keynote speeches, two oral report sessions (8-12 presentations are expected), a roundtable forum, and poster displays. To give international participants a practical understanding of Taiwan's diet and exercise environment, a community field survey is scheduled for the afternoon before the conference, based on foreign experiences. This field survey will guide international experts on a visit to the dietary and exercise environments around the campuses of National Cheng Kung University and Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology. The aim is to provide international speakers with a deeper understanding of the campus diet and exercise environments and facilities at Taiwanese universities, fostering discussions on connecting the concepts and practices of health equity for young adults.
